THANKSGIVING AT ALL SOULS

Each year, the Thanksgiving Dinner gathering at All Souls is growing larger. This year again, Inez Miller and Robin Bossert served as hosts to the grateful gathering of families and individuals who found a joyful “family” of celebrants to mark this most American of traditional holidays. Thanksgiving is a day to join with family and friends to share the traditional meal dating back to a Pilgrim feast shared with New England Indians. Those who gathered around the Thanksgiving tables in Friendship Hall were served a delicious version the traditional turkey and trimmings provided through the culinary magic of Inez Miller, who spent Thanksgiving Day rushing through all of All Soul’s three kitchens to roast the 7 turkeys 2 hens and 1 ‘tofurkey’ needed to serve 94 guests in time for dinner at 13 tables. Musical accompaniment was provided by Rubin Nizri. Perhaps, the record number of All Souls members signing up this year to participate in this All Souls family holiday festivity was the result of word-of-mouth enthusiasm by those who had attended in previous years.
