EDITORS CORNER“Neither rain, nor snow, nor heat nor gloom of night will keep” All Souls members from their accustomed church activities (pace Herodotus!). In spite of blizzards, torrential rain falls, freezing temperatures and unpredictable unseasonable warm-spells during the three winter months, large events attracted large audiences, meetings were held, and pews were filled at worship services and concerts. The hungry were fed twice each week. Groups sponsored outside social events such as the Cooper-Hewitt Museum visit by Women’s Alliance members, dinner gatherings by the Young Adult Group and the 30s/40s Fellowship, and all kinds of different film showings presented by different committees as well as by the regularly scheduled Cinema All Souls. New groups and activities continued to be created, including a Lay-led Bible Study Group, an Emerson Reading Circle and a Coping with Loss Group led by Rev. Cheryl Walker. A Chinese Dragon pranced at the Chinese New Year’s party and square dancers twirled in Friendship Hall. Now that the spring buds are greening on our garden bushes, the pace of church life will only pick up and continue to engage our active and inventive All Souls community. —Marietta Moskin In future issues of the Quarterly, we would like to highlight special achievements in the lives of our members: books, articles, awards, performances, etc. Please let us know about your recent achievements, creative or otherwise.
