Finding the right Development person is critically important to us. We realize that – unless someone has a vocational call to become a minister – most people don’t grow up dreaming of working at a church. All Souls, however, is a VERY special place. It has a large membership that is intellectually curious, politically engaged, and progressive. This position requires someone who enjoys being challenged to bring their whole self and their full range of sometimes competing talents together. The Development Manager we are looking for will find it easy to build both relationships and systems; will be savvy enough to intuit when to shift back and forth between their role serving the congregation and the need to use her or his expertise to take command of a situation; will be both an optimistic cheerleader and absolutely relentless in the pursuit of helping others understand the need, the benefit, and the satisfaction that comes from investing in enhancing the joy and meaning that congregants derive from participating in this community within themselves as individuals, among the community of All Souls, and beyond our walls as we build connections with the broader world around us. We truly look forward to finding the person who meets these ideas and brings even more to join our strong and tight-knit staff team.

GOALS AND METRICS:
All Souls has an Annual Giving goal of $1,450,000 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending on June 30, 2019, which is 6.5% higher than the goal for the prior/current fiscal year (from 7/1/17-6/30/18). Professional fundraising consultants have repeatedly indicated that they believe the population of members and friends who attend All Souls certainly have the capacity to contribute as much as $2,000,000 (or more) on an annual basis.
We believe that in order to tap this capacity, however, it is important to engage an active fundraiser who will be dedicated and focused on organizing the Senior Minister, the Board of Trustees, key staff members, and other congregational volunteers to make sure that there is a ladder of engagement and systematic method of tracking of the number of communication touch-points used to encourage donors to feel more valued and necessary for the success of their sacred space.
Our aim is to be able to increase total congregational giving by 15% annually in the second and third years of this new dedicated and integrated approach.
